when the community supports those businesses supporting our teachers... its a cumulative effort to change the culture of tomorrow. it's When Teachers come first
ILT Teacher Assistance Program - (TAP)
What is it?
Our Teacher Assistance Program (aka TAP) is a financial assistance program for public education teachers, in need of financial support due to unexpected life events.
How does it work?
Our members are Public School Teachers, and Support Staff as well as Private, Charter, and Home School Teachers. Our partners are the businesses that make up our communities.
Businesses offer discounts or donations for our members, the community, in turn, supports these businesses by patronizing from them and spreading the good word. The better the offer, the more attention from our members, and community support. This creates a symbiotic relationship between our community, and it’s businesses, our teachers and support staff.
How is it funded?
A percentage of our membership dues and partnership fees are reserved for this fund.
- $2 from each paid Teacher (33% of $6)
- $2 from each paid Support Staff (20% of $10)
- $10 from each paid Business Partner (percentage varies)
Donations may be received from businesses, or others who are not partners of I Love Teachers. (100% of these donations are placed in this fund.)
How are the teachers chosen?
There is an application process. Twice a year (starting May 1st, 2020 and November 1st, 2020) a single recipient or multiple recipients may be chosen by an independent review committee made up of seven advisors. These advisors are former students made up of doctors, nurses, businessmen or women, teachers, first responders, financial planners, and lawyers.
How do the Teachers get these funds?
The applicants that are chosen by our independent review committee may or may not be members of I Love Teachers. Those that apply are not required to be members. Recipients will be notified by one or more of the following from the information provided in the application – mail, email, or phone and posted publicly on our site 30 days after the recipient is chosen. These funds will be delivered by check to the awarded applicant by I Love Teachers.
Further detail will be provided in the application.

TEACHERS EARN LESS THAN THEY DID 30 YEARS AGO
Teachers already have it bad enough. Wages have stagnated, so teachers now earn less on average then they did 30 years ago.
Many have to work additional jobs to support their meager salary, and they’re still expected to pay for school supplies out of shallow pockets. They are truly not fairly compensated for the work they do.
ILT Scholarship Foundation
I Love Teachers is proud to support our educators of tomorrow. Our Scholarships are limited to graduating high school students who want to become teachers. I Love Teachers grants these scholarships to students who have demonstrated enthusiasm, and past performance in the pursuit of a career related to education.
The I Love Teachers Scholarship Foundation’s purpose is to encourage relationships between businesses, schools, the community, educators, and the students to improve public school education to further appreciation in public schools.
How Do We Do This
We introduce teachers to our business partners that want to express their admiration and appreciation by way of donated or discounted everyday services or products. Proceeds from our premier membership paid by both Teachers and Support Staff as well as our Business Partners fund our scholarship foundation.
Scholarships will be granted to students whose personal goals, college major and declared career path show future success in a field related to education. The foundation expects to award scholarship funds totaling $10,000 to $20,000 in 2020. That amount may be given as a single award to one student or may be distributed as multiple awards to several students at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
